What does the Happy Gigsters' Guide tell us about avoiding very late & very early check-ins? Well, I had a late check-in and an acceptable room - but overlooking a very busy highway into LAX with constant traffic noise.
An uneventful flight from Mexico City yesterday evening & then the least competent immigration inspector I have passed in 34 years. The inspectors to their side were processing 3 or 4 to my inspector's one. Astonishing. She couldn't quite handle me either, with an extant visa and current I94, and suggested she was trying to avoid sending me to the back of the (very long) line (from a Korean flight) again. I didn't ask why, and her English wasn't in any case quite good enough to have allowed her to give a satisfactory answer. She obviously felt she had done me a favour by allowing me in for one day. Again, astonishing.
